Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is approaching and will begin this Thursday, September 9. To celebrate the start of another week of sizzling fashion, awesome inspiration, glittering celebrities, and fabulous parties, we've created a collage of the best photos of past fashion weeks to celebrate in anticipation of the wonderful style to come. Don't Get Mad Get In This Fashion Week

Among the anticipation shared by fashion aficionados, experts, leaders, and connoisseurs, Forbes Blog is reporting on the opportunity of a lifetime: to be an outsider in the fashion industry and live like an insider for a week. The blog reports that W Hotels in New York is once again advertising their annual Catwalk Packages for 15 lucky patrons. Some of the perks inside the package include two tickets to any show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, a suite a the W New York on Wall Street or Union Square, and a tote bag designed by Danny Roberts. The full posts has th details on what the exact costs and benefits for the Catwalk Packages but according to the post most of the people getting their hands on them are fashion industry insiders who have coveted knowledge of the goings-on inside the tents. However, you can't put a price on beautiful fashion and you most definitely can't put a price on attending a Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week fashion show, either. Channel Your Inner Rake - Trussardi 1911 Spring/Summer '11

If one statement had to sum up Trussardi 1911's Milan collection, it would be "No autographs, please." The almost 100-year-old design house that began as a glove creation company which spilled into its foray into the luxury goods world is making the hot playboy look come alive. The collection is full of black, khaki, and dark denim paired with rough leather jackets in solid black, colored leopard prints, and deep red tinged with patches of black. The collection features many transition pieces from fall that fit into the spring season with a large crimson knit jacket with shawl collar, a light and rugged-looking highly tinted-chartreuse scarf, and long sleeved zip-up jackets. Lightly constructed blazers in red, white, and light blue added a dapper touch to the collection. The scoop neckline was a favorite for the collection with thinly striped shirts in navy and solid shirts in white. Each look was also paired with aviator sunglasses which completed the aesthetic of the popular and perhaps prodigal rake whose life involves hundreds of velvet rope openings, champagne fountains, and an infamous silver tongue. Trussardi is known for their inclination to the classic and timeless, considering their familiarity with it. This collection is a half step away from their usually more mature, conservative pieces but not a dive into the more flamboyant and colorful younger world that is dominated by brands like D&G and DSquared. D&G Makes Life a Picnic in Milan

 

D&G's Spring/Summer 2011 collection shown at Milan Fashion Week was one of my most favorite of all the menswear shows. With my avid fondness for menswear collections, I especially am an aficionado of classical, streamlined, and preppy chic ensembles. Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce showcased just that three days ago with the premiere of their younger and more flamboyant luxury line D&G. The aesthetic of the show included a picturesque typically-American park setting with faux-turf runway and a background that was reminiscent of 1950s family picnic grounds. The designs of the collection followed suit with the theme, revealing an assemblage of classical checkered short and long-sleeved shirts and shorts with bright red and green hues that were subdued by low-intensity hues. The collection of light summer blazers also appeared in light blue and red giving an even more aesthetically anachronistic look to the collection. The pants, chinos, were light in texture and weight, complementing the footwear that also exhibited an airy and simplistic visual weight. Hawaiian prints also made an appearance in shirts and swim trunks which paired excellently with the other elements of the collection. T-shirts with prints of picnic scenes, such as Edouard Manet's painting Le Dejeuner sur l'Herbe meshed well into the scene. Even though D&G happens to be one of my favorite collections which I always look forward to viewing, this is one of my most raved yet. The culmination of the pleasant, carefree clothing along with the idyllic Yosemite Park-style atmosphere almost makes you wonder at what moment Yogi Bear and Boo Boo will pop out.
