Channel Your Inner Rake - Trussardi 1911 Spring/Summer '11

If one statement had to sum up Trussardi 1911's Milan collection, it would be "No autographs, please." The almost 100-year-old design house that began as a glove creation company which spilled into its foray into the luxury goods world is making the hot playboy look come alive. The collection is full of black, khaki, and dark denim paired with rough leather jackets in solid black, colored leopard prints, and deep red tinged with patches of black. The collection features many transition pieces from fall that fit into the spring season with a large crimson knit jacket with shawl collar, a light and rugged-looking highly tinted-chartreuse scarf, and long sleeved zip-up jackets. Lightly constructed blazers in red, white, and light blue added a dapper touch to the collection. The scoop neckline was a favorite for the collection with thinly striped shirts in navy and solid shirts in white. Each look was also paired with aviator sunglasses which completed the aesthetic of the popular and perhaps prodigal rake whose life involves hundreds of velvet rope openings, champagne fountains, and an infamous silver tongue. Trussardi is known for their inclination to the classic and timeless, considering their familiarity with it. This collection is a half step away from their usually more mature, conservative pieces but not a dive into the more flamboyant and colorful younger world that is dominated by brands like D&G and DSquared. Summer Invidia - Marquis Phifer

Just when I thought Marquis Phifer's life couldn't get anymore flashy than mine, school lets out. Now the mogul's on his way to spend another summer in New York City, the mecca of the Flashy Life to blaze more trails in fashion and get more stardust on his shoulders. In one of his posts titled "Pressure Made Me a Diamond", a photograph of him looking for his "one-piece hitter-quitter" which happens to be a white blazer and a pair of khaki drawstring shorts from H&M. No doubt Mr. Phifer is Hamptons-ready; I can't stop my inbox from being inundated with Twitter text-message updates saying "Should I pace the triple-breasted blazer or not?", "I have to make sure my suitcase is 50lbs or less", and "Gotta find a place in New York". I'm looking forward to seeing Marquis' summer exploits and New York City and if I'm lucky I might get a few new hot photographs that will go oh-so-nicely on my desktop background slide show. But until then, I wait as dreams of flashing lights and fashion shows dance in my head...

There's nothing more that I love than to open a new March issue of one of my favorite fashion magazines and gaze at the stunning and colorful new ads for the Spring and Summer collections of the year. The glossiness, the perfection, and the overall artistic genius inside each photograph inspires me to reach for the levels of beauty and style that is created in these photos. This is in fact, how designers keep their customers coming. We all want the perfect hair flowing perfectly in the wind that is angled in the perfect spot.
