BET is coming out with its fourth edition of its showcase of Black fashion and style Rip the Runway. The special consists of a beautiful and entertaining merging of hip-hop music with the collections of talented and innovative yet understated Black designers. With somewhat of a lack of darker tones on the runway in many high fashion shows, BET's Rip the Runway has given numerous rising Black male and female models a chance to strut their stuff and gain an opportunity to be noticed and recognized as successful models. Also, the runway gives the models and performers an opportunity to be vivacious, playful, and unique unlike the all-too-well-known staid and monotonous walks of models in more renown fashion shows. BET is also breaking ground in the fashion show realm with its acceptance of inexperienced models and new faces due to its open casting calls. Rip the Runway premiere's on BET on Monday, March 15th with hosts Pooch Hall from the CW series The Game and new hip-hop face Nicki Minaj. So tune in next Monday at 10/9C and be prepared for a dazzling and explosive fashion show!
